Painting Class with Sinh

If you are visiting Hoi An we would welcome you to join us for a half day to find out more about Lifestart Foundation and take part in lantern making and art classes.

The half day includes the opportunity to make a Hoi An lantern, one-on-one dialogue with Lifestart Foundation workshop members and a traditional painting class. At the end of your experience you’ll have one small Hoi An lantern and your hand painted notecard to take home and share with friends. All of the money raised goes towards helping local people in difficult situations become self-sufficient.

Your Half Day

Lantern Making

  • 9:00 – Meet at the Lifestart Foundation Workshop at 77 Phan Chau Trinh, Hoi An
  • 9:15 – Traditional Painting Class
  • 10:30 – An opportunity to meet the makers at the Lifestart Foundation Workshop, find out how Lifestart Foundation is helping people from disadvantaged backgrounds and see how some of the other products are made.
  • 11:00 – Lantern making class
  • 12:00 – End of your tour. We’ll be happy to introduce you to a good restaurant where you can taste some local specialties.

The half-day can also be run at other times on request. Includes free Vietnamese tea served hot or cold.

Costs and Bookings

The experience costs $22 US per person. All money raised will go to helping local people in difficult situations. If you would prefer to just do the painting class or the lantern making class a shorter class is offered for $12 per person. You can download a PDF brochure to print or email to friends.

This tour is not suitable for children under ten years old.

Please come to visit us at the Lifestart Foundation Workshop at 77 Phan Chau Trinh Street and purchase a souvenir of your trip.

The non-profit workshop focuses on creating unique handmade arts/crafts to help support those living in challenging situations in and around Hoi An. Each item is individually made by members of the workshop and the entire proceeds from the sale of the products go directly to the workshop members to provide a sustainable income and sense of independence.
