Volunteering in Australia or from Home

Lifestart volunteers are people of all ages with a variety of skills. They share a common interest, to participate and contribute to programs that help improve the lives of children and families living in poverty. Volunteers are needed to help with administration, fundraising, PR, marketing, grant and funding applications, wholesale business development, media and event planning.
The Lifestart Foundation Annual Christmas in July Dinner Dance takes place in July each year. People are needed to help with getting tables together for the evening, find or give donations for the silent auction, help out with the setting up the day before and help on the evening. If you are able to help please get in contact.
Volunteering in Vietnam
Where possible Lifestart Foundation endeavours to employ people from the local community, which in turn expands local skills and knowledge, therefore we do not always have a requirement for volunteers in Vietnam. The current needs for volunteers are as follows:
- Experienced physiotherapists and occupational therapists to work in the Lifestart Foundation Free Disability Community Centre
- Enthusiastic and friendly volunteers interested in coming over to Vietnam to base themselves at the Lifestart Foundation Workshop. This role includes working directly with customers talking to them about our work, spending time capacity building our Vietnamese staff in customer service skills and the opportunity to work directly with the disabled workshop members.
- Trained teachers (ideally with ESL qualifications) who can commit to a minimum of one month in Vietnam teaching English.
- Experienced nurses, carers or other medical professionals to provide respite care for those with disabilities. A suitable match will be found between your skills and Lifestart Foundation recipients. This may include specialists such as occupational therapists, speech therapists or those with general experience in working with individuals with disabilities.
- If you are travelling to Vietnam any assistance with transporting donated goods from Australia is always greatly appreciated. If you think you may be able to help please get in contact.

If you are interested in volunteering for Lifestart Foundation, and feel you have skills that may be able to assist our work, please get in touch through the contact page. Before working for Lifestart Foundation you’ll need to sign our Volunteer Guidelines. If you are planning to live in Hoi An you may find our Pre-departure Information helpful.
