ANH TUAN’S GRATITUDE LETTER

Dear Ms Karen and Lifestart Foundation,

My name is Nguyen Doan Anh Tuan, a student  at Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School, Dien Thang Trung Ward, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province.

Today, I am writing this letter to express my sincere gratitude to Ms Karen and Lifestart Foundation for awarding me this meaningful scholarship, which has given me better opportunities in my educational journey. I would also like to take this opportunity to share a bit about my family, my studies and daily life.

My family consists of five members, including my father, mother, two older sisters and me. My father works as a labourer, a farmer and a construction worker. My mother is a garment factory worker. My eldest sister is currently a second-year student at Da Nang University of Foreign Language Studies while my other sister is in Year 12. Sometimes, both of them take part-time jobs to help support our family.

As for my studies, I study subjects such as Math, Informatics, Civic Education, English, Literature, Natural Sciences, History & Geography, and Technology. I achieved a GPA of 9.0 out of a possible 10 in the first semester of Year 9. Amongst the subjects I study, I enjoy Physics the most because I love doing experiments and hands-on activities. However, the subject I am best at is Math. At present, I am focusing on revising Math, Literature and English in preparation for the upcoming high school entrance exam. I also plan to apply to Le Thanh Tong High School for gifted students, with Math as my chosen specialized subject.

At school, I always strive to complete all my assignments and prepare lessons before class as well as learn from my classmates. My teachers are always supportive and help me whenever I face difficulties in my studies.

Outside of school, I also attend extra classes in Math, English and Physics. I am putting a lot of effort into studying key concepts, especially in Math and English to better prepare for the upcoming entrance exam.

At home, I often help my parents with housework and try to manage my time wisely between studying and relaxing. On average, I usually spend about four hours a day studying – two hours for school assignments and revision and two hours for self-study and practicing advanced exercises in Math, Literature and English by looking for resources online.

Since I was young, I have dreamed of becoming a doctor, with the hope of helping people and protecting them from illnesses.

During my first interview with Lifestart Foundation, I was very nervous and certain whether I could meet the requirements. When I received the news that I had been selected for the scholarship, both my family and I were incredibly happy.

Once again, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Lifestart Foundation for granting me this scholarship. To me, it is incredibly important as it significantly alleviates the financial burden on my family and opened up better opportunities for my education. It is also a great motivation for me to keep working hard and striving for a brighter future.

In closing, I wish Ms Karen and Lifestart Foundation good health and continued success. Thank you very much!

With sincere thanks,

Nguyen Doan Anh Tuan
