DANG THI CAM’S GRATITUDE LETTER

Dear Ms Karen and Lifestart Foundation,

My name is Dang Thi Cam and I am currently a student at Tran Cao Van Secondary School, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province.

I am writing this letter to express my deepest gratitude for the valuable scholarship that you and Lifestart Foundation have generously awarded me. This is a great honor and a tremendous source of encouragement for both me and my family. I would also like to take this opportunity to share more about myself, my family, my studies and my current life situation.

My family consists of four members, including my mother, my two younger brothers and myself. My mother is a factory worker. My 13-year-old brother is currently in Year 7, while my youngest brother, who is four years old, is in kindergarten. Our family faces many challenges especially in terms of finance. Despite these difficulties, my mother always does her best to ensure that my siblings and I can attend school.

Currently, I am achieving excellent academic results. Amongst the subjects I study, I am especially passionate about Literature and English. I enjoy studying Literature because it helps broaden my knowledge and I hope that one day I will be able to pass on to future generations everything it has taught me. I also want to improve my English to enhance my communication skills in the language and understand more about its beauty.

In class, I always pay close attention to the lessons and complete all my assignments and I have a good relationship with my teachers and classmates.

I am currently attending extra classes in Math and English to further strengthen my knowledge. This semester, my goal is to maintain excellent academic performance and try my best in the upcoming high school entrance exam.

Aside from studying, I also help my mother with household chores such as washing dishes, sweeping the floor, cooking and taking care of my younger siblings and in my free time I enjoy reading books. I am especially interested in books about literature, life skills and psychology. Every time I read, I feel enlightened and it helps me better understand what I am truly thinking.

In the future, I hope to become a teacher, standing at the podium to share the knowledge I have gained with the next generation. I hope to contribute, even in a small way to the development and prosperity of our country and this scholarship will bring me closer to achieving that dream.

During the interview, I felt very nervous but also filled with hope. The nervousness did not come from a lack of confidence, but from how much I appreciated this opportunity. I carried with me the strong hope of being awarded this meaningful scholarship and my family was overjoyed when hearing the news that I had been successful. In addition, I was deeply touched to receive a Tet gift from Lifestart Foundation before the holiday. The gift brought great warmth and happiness to our family during Tet.

This scholarship holds immense meaning for me and my family, as it not only eases our financial burden but also motivates me to keep working hard. It will give me the opportunity to access better learning resources and I promise to use it wisely and effectively.

Once again, I sincerely thank Ms Karen and Lifestart Foundation for your care and support for disadvantaged students like me. I hope to have the chance to meet everyone again to share my academic progress. I wish Ms Karen and everyone at Lifestart Foundation good health, happiness, and success.

Yours sincerely,

Dang Thi Cam
